In January I started a new phase of my career. After 22 years at the Grand Rapids Press, my position as a staff photographer was eliminated. I am now part of the freelance nation, and am building my business as a photographer and videographer. Although my staff job at the Press is gone, I’m fortunate I am still freelancing for them.
At first my blog was for fun, but now I see it as a window to show prospective clients my work. My hope is to show my favorite photos a few times a week. So, keep checking back and hopefully you will see something new.

My good friend Roy Clark asked me to shoot some photos for the artist Mia Tavanati, of her winning 2011 ArtPrize piece at DeVos Place. It was great seeing it again, and being able to appreciate the detail in the work.
